telelvision

Television can make you feel :
Bored
Smart
Entertained
Excited
In suspense
In love
Happy
Sad
Angry
Depressed
the list could go on and on....

So the point is a TV show can make you feel wonderful and upbeat or disgusting and gross. I've decided to really crack down hard on what I allow myself to watch on the television. If there's lots of foul language, there go that show; if there's lots of inappropriateness (You know what I'm talking about...), onto the next channel; if it is very depressing, looking for something else that's on; if Jesus wouldn't watch it with me because of how sinful it is, then I'm not even going to think twice about watching it.

What happened to these days, where the whole family could sit around and watch TV with each other, without the worry of some family members being to young to watch it?

I've heard the "sponge sermon" a bunch of times and actually, it's true! I've noticed that with music and TV, our culture is really lacking in what we allow or don't allow. Lots of people are okay with a song that cussed, but if someone just said those same words than they would say that they aren't okay with it. Let me ask you something, what's the difference?!

I love to sing to my dogs (okay, I know, kinda weird but that's okay! It's how I like to show them my love), and what I sing is what I'm saying. It doesn't make a difference to my dogs if I sing of talk because they're hearing the same things. What people say and how they say it doesn't make a difference if they're still the sincere the same way. If I called someone a dumb jerk-face that didn't know 2 + 2 but sang it, I don't think that they would care whether I was singing it or not!

When we sing along, or when celebrities are singing those foul lyrics that would and DO make me blush, God doesn't hear it any differently than if they were saying them in a monotone voice.

I hope you got something out of this post. It really helped me kind of vent about my troubles with the modern world of television that I feel is so unjust right now!

Thanks for reading, well if anyone is then thank you (:

Sincerely in the utmost manner,
Janae
