The book of revelation is from a VISION from God to John. If he hadn't taken that step of faith to believe and know that it was from God and to act on it, where would we be? What would we know now? The rest of the New Testament was written words that God had actually said, or of things seen in the physical. Revelation is things believed in. That take an extra step. And extra uumf. Something pushing beyond the natural and rational barriers. None of it makes sense rationally to the world with worldly thinking, but with heavenly thinking, how could it even be doubted for a second? In the Bible I'm amazed by how many times God straight out tells people. People straight out know. And it's undoubted. Its regular for them. God tells them something and they immediately know its from God and that its THE truth. There is no other. But they don't even have to doubt because it's always from God and it always comes true. They have that personal relationship with Him that they KNOW his voice. He's their best friend. When he speaks, they listen. When he shows, they look. When he tells, they follow. What faith. A lot of times I feel like it's almost easier to have that kind of faith in God back then but that's just an excuse. It's the same thing now as it was then. What's changed since then? God is still God. He is still above all. Miracles still happen. And he still moves. Sometimes a lot of the same ways. How crazy it is that things happening in the Bible actually parallel what's going on directly in our lives!
